Prom Look for the Edgy Girls
Prom has been – and probably always will be – depicted as an event brimming with girls wearing sweet princess gowns or elegant cutout dresses. But what about the edgy type of girls? Just imagine how frustrating it can be to be left out of something that’s supposed to be one of the highlights of your high school years.
You might gripe about how edgy girls don’t care about prom, but that doesn’t hold true for all the edgy girls out there. Some of them want to attend prom, just not in a fluffy pink, meringue type of dress. If you’re reading this, you’re probably an edgy girl yourself so without further ado, here are prom dress suggestions and tips to help you out.
Wear all black with silver details like a dangling pair of earrings and multi-strand silver chain necklace. Instead of wearing stilettos, opt for a knee-high lace up boots and rock it with a pair of fingerless gloves encrusted with gems. Hey, you can even DIY the gem-encrusted fingerless gloves!
Give it a bit of color even if it is a rich color such as this vampy red dress. Accessorize with lace fingerless gloves, cuff bracelet, stud earrings, and a chunky necklace, or however you want.
If you’re really adamant on not wearing a long dress, go for a cocktail dress. Again, try to add even just a bit of color to your ensemble to spice things up.
Prom isn’t just for the girly girl. It just so happens that the event is a perfect excuse to get all dolled up. Remember as well that it is not hard to put together a prom look that rocks your boat. You just have to have an open mind and a bit of imagination, and this applies to every girl; princess-y and edgy rockers alike.
