The Bold and the Beautiful at the 2012 NYC Ballet Fall Gala

20 September 2012, Thursday, New York City Ballet celebrated the commencement of the 2012-2013 fall season with the first of “4 highly-anticipated benefit events“. They had yet another event that raised funds for the NYC Ballet while guests were given the chance to mingle with the company’s awesome dancers. The event entitled Celebrating Valentino, featured new costumes created by the notable and visionary fashion designer, Valentino Garavani.
The black-tie ball, prepared for over 800 guests, served as a stage not only for the ballet company’s extraordinary dancers, but for the most stylish celebrities as well. Stars paraded on the red carpet with fashion that reminded us here at MissesDressy.com of our Eclectic Eccentricity Style Series, You’re Majes-tic: Fashion Fit for a Queen, Superhero Style: Capes, and Flowy Flair posts. The style trend for the night seemed to be voluminous and theatrical, bold and beautiful. Below is our pick of the most memorable looks that night:
Anne Hathaway in Valentino
The romantic side of Miss Anne showed in this lovely sheer floral and lace dress with emphasized romantic sleeves. The Fall colours on the dress well complemented her short brown hair.
Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino
SJP also donned a floral dress and matched it with a printed cape. The bold print on print was perfectly styled with gold waist-cinching belt.
Karolina Kurkova in Valentino
Karolina stole the spotlight when she arrived in a Valentino Fall 2012 Couture gown in the powerful signature red shade by the label. Flowy and bright weren’t good enough because to add to the volume, she opted to wear the matching cape.
Olivia Palermo in Christian Dior
Olivia’s look may be too much for many, but we thinks she pulled-off the non-minimal look. She had on a dress with black one-shoulder fringed top and pale pink pleated tiers. She accessorized with a feathered purple clutch to match her dress.
